Spicy Taco Queso Dip


4 tablespoons unsalted butter

¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

2 cups half-and-half

½ cup Red Duck Actually Spicy Taco Sauce

8 ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes and softened

2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)

4 ounces soft goat cheese

2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and diced

Fine sea salt, as needed

Chopped cilantro, green onion, and/or jalapeño peppers



1.     In a large saucepan over medium, melt butter. Whisk in flour until, smooth, then whisk in chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk in half-and-half and taco sauce.

2.     Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, then take off the heat and whisk in cream cheese, Cheddar, goat cheese, and jalapeños. Whisk until cheese is completely melted. If needed, place saucepan back over low heat to melt cheese. Taste and add salt if needed.

3.     Serve topped with cilantro, green onion, and/or jalapeños.
